What is the Difference between a Christian Life Coach, Counsellor or Mentor?

400SnowFamilyChristian Life Coaching is about helping the Client get from where they are now to where they want to be expressed as a Goal. Then helping them take action to fulfil their Goal through patient questioning and active listening. Prayer and the application of faith through the Word of God is encouraged together with accountability in fulfilling tasks. A variety of ‘tools’ may be drawn on, such as the application of Mind Renewal, Forgiveness, Disappointment and Unresolved Hurts, as a means of helping Clients identify and achieve their defined Goals.

Counselling is a type of ‘talking therapy’ which involves a person discussing emotional difficulties and problems in a supportive and confidential environment. The Counselor does not give advise nor be judgemental, rather their role is to listen to the client with empathy
so as to help them understand their feelings and behavior Hopefully the client finds their own solutions to their problem.

Mentoring A Mentor is an accomplished and experienced professional/expert who has a desire to help, to guide and develop a junior or more advanced person.

What do you want Jesus to do for you? Mark 10:51

origin_266023763-1“You do not have, because you do not ask God.” James 4:1-8

The trouble with so many of us Believers is that we just can’t believe that God is speaking and listening to us – personally!

He speaks to us personally through the Bible and through our thoughts and circumstances. He does so because He really loves to fellowship with us and longs to help us in our times of trouble.

And yet…

I used to think: for the Lord God of Heaven and Earth to actually want to walk and talk with little old me is like asking the Queen of England to stop her cavalcade and actually summons me for a one on one chat.

It just doesn’t happen that way and so I don’t even spend time dwelling on it.

And yet over the days and weeks I kept hearing in my ‘inner man’ His words: “What do you want me to do for you?”

So, I took me a writing pad and began a long and detailed list of all my needs related to work, relationships, and ill health. Ill health being my greatest need. After all if you don’t have good health you don’t have the energy to do anything!

I kept writing and writing and writing! I listed specific desires I had as a new Christian: A wife, a Ministry, a good business, great friends, money and health. All the usual things.

Exhausted, some time later I packed up my pad and pen and headed back home.

It wasn’t until I reached home that I finally began to realise the objective as a Christian was not to aquire things but a Person – the Person of Jesus Christ. What I truly want and what Jesus wants is Relationship! He’ll provide everything else – including good health.

“Christian Life Coaching” Testimony

“Erich Diegel” : Testimony of Christian Life Coaching

Abide in the Vine

“I can truly say that these 3 sessions were really helpful for my life. I could see how Peter was trying to help me to find the answers myself by asking the right questions.”

“I am a person that likes to do different things all at once and that is why I sometimes lose my focus for what my vision or goal really is about. I felt like Peter was really helping me to define that goal and make appropriate steps towards it.”

“He helped my imagination to go wild and see the possibilities instead of why it couldn’t work out. Peter was always very positive and encouraging towards my dream/vision. I could really feel that he understood where I am coming from and where I could go and need to go.”

“I will definitely recommend Peter as a Life coach to others if they need one, because it really helped me a lot. And who knows maybe I need his help again, than I always know I can count on his help. Peter is a great man of God and is helping the body of Christ to grow and individuals to trust and believe God for the impossible.”

Fulfilling your Destiny

Christian Life Coaching

I recently had the privilege of receiving the wisdom and encouragement of one of God’s Masters of Faith. A Pastor, Leader and tireless campaigner of the Gospel of Grace, this elderly Gentleman began his talk with the following questions:

“What is your Vision? Can you see it? Can you get your vision in sight and keep it in sight?

He continued:

“Focusing on what Jesus has called you to do and doing it will help fulfill your Destiny. Get your vision directly from Jesus; and speak it out to one another… Focus. Focus. Focus!”

As a practising Christian Life Coach you can imagine that, by now, I was positively bursting at the seam’s with excitement. This is the very mindset – Purpose, Passion and Destiny – that Life Coaches eat, drink and sleep!

It is about what Jesus Himself has called us to be towards one another so that we may be ready for the good works God has prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them -producing great Growth and abundant fruit!

It is about passing on the baton to others eager to fulfill their own God given purpose…(Eph. 2:10) and ensuring no one is falling out of the net!

Unbelief

UnbeliefUnbelief is a state of mind; a way of thinking; an attitude of heart. Although unbelief is powerful it can, however, be eroded by the Truth of God’s Word.

Unbelief is an inferior spiritual force that needs to be confronted head on! We read in the Book of Mathew 13: 58 that… “Jesus did not do any mighty works there because of their unbelief.” Jesus requires us to develop our own faith, a faith that is based upon His Words of faith.

His spirit lives in us and as we join our faith with His faith then the miracles take place. But we must believe!

How then do we develop this kind of faith, the kind of faith that believes for miracles when we speak the Word?

The Bible tells us that faith comes by hearing and hearing the Word of God. In short, we renew our mind when we read, meditate upon and confess God’s Word.

For example you may like to speak out loud the following Scripture verses based upon His eternal faithfulness towards meeting your needs and prospering you in all that you turn your hands to.

“…I will hasten My Word to perform it.” Jer. 1:12b “ But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus” Phil. 4:19 “Casting all your care upon Him; for he cares for you.” 1 Pet. 5:7

Your Christian Purpose

Your Purpose is to fulfill God’s Destiny for your life
Fulfilling your Destiny is your purpose.

In the Bible we read: “For this purpose the Son of God was manifested that he might destroy the works of the devil.” (1 John 3:8)

Jesus’ purpose is to destroy the works of the Devil.

My purpose is to walk in the freedom Jesus has provided for me through His death on the Cross and His resurrection from the grave.

In so doing I am pushing back the enemy’s Kingdom by declaring God’s superior Kingdom in the Earth.

I ask myself: ‘In what area of life am I contributing to the destruction of Satan’s activities in this World?’ For example, every time I help a hurting soul, speak a kind word to a lonely neighbour or lift up the Name of Jesus, I am pushing back the barriers of injustice, fear and evil!

This is my Purpose.

As a Christian Life Coach I work with many Clients who are seeking fulfilling their Christian Purpose. Should you like to find out how this may be good for you as a means of pressing in to receive all that God has for you, CLICK HERE for Your Free Trial Coaching Session

Fear of Man

Fear of Man will cripple God’s Plan for your life!

I have missed so many opportunities to witness to folk who are needy and in trouble; or to images-3warn a friend who is clearly going in a wrong spiritual direction; or a neighbor struggling with family discipline; or even to speak up for Biblical Principles related to situations of moral rights. And even to simply radiate the love of God!

The trouble is I get so fearful of what people think of me I can barely communicate my Faith!

So how can it be that someone like myself: Born Again Christian, Church-Goer, truly passionate for the Lord, be so easily ashamed of Jesus?

I think the answer is that there is an injustice going on that say’s, in essence, that Born Again Believers are not really part of main stream Society – and therefore would not naturally want to affiliate with mainstream Culture. In other words, I’m weird because I’m not like them.

It’s amazing that I am happy to listen endlessly to their own particular ‘take on life’, about their philosophies, their New Age beliefs and their worldly wisdom. But mention anything to do with the Truth of the Word of God and…. silence!! Or worse, they will tell me it is only useful for allegorical tales and for something to hold on to as a crutch for weak-willed people.

Meanwhile, the terrible truth is that they are going to Hell! And that includes friends of mine, relatives and even some church-goers!

So, how can it be that someone like myself, so passionate for the Kingdom of Heaven, be so ashamed of Jesus? It’s as though there is an injustice that say’s it’s ok for unbelievers to say what they want and believe what they want, but if I dare mention anything to do with The Truth of God’s Word…Silence!

This is what I’m beginning to realise: It’s time to die to self and to live totally for Jesus; which can only be done by being ‘Hidden in Christ’ This is my protection from attacks, shaming and fear of man. ‘In Christ’ I am hidden in from mocking’s and rejection BECAUSE Jesus took it all on the Cross. So, the bottom line and the antidote for my protection is this:

“I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer I live but, but Christ Lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in Jesus!” Galatians 2: 20

It’s not about me but Jesus!

How To Fulfil Your Destiny

Your purpose as a Christian is to fulfil your Destiny.

God’s purpose in sending Jesus was to fulfil HIS Destiny: “For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the Works of the devil.” 1 John 3:8

medium_4536543987In Christ’ the Devil is defeated; which means that you and I can get on with pursuing our very own destiny.

The question then is; ‘What exactly is our each and every individual’s Destiny? What does it look like? Where is it? How will we recognise it as our own?

It may well help you recognise your individual Destiny by reflecting on some of the Hero’s of the Bible. For example take ‘Moses’…

As a baby Moses was rescued from certain anhialation, had it not been for the Pharoes daughter, who had taken a shine to the baby. In so doing she’d granted the baby Moses a freedom never heard of by anyone outside of Pharoes raign and rule. By grace she’d given him a life.

In Moses’ later life he was the one doing the rescuing. Returning to his own people – the Israelites – he lead them out of captivity and slavery under the cruel Egyptions, into a beautiful place called the ‘Promissed Land.’

And how about David and Goliath? Against all odds, David the young boy and son of the King of God’s people The Israelites, knocked out the Giant Goliath with one deft throw of his loaded sling! David’s destiny was sealed for all time in that single act of bravery.

Your Destiny is a miracle in the making – a Supernatural Gift from God designed with you and you only in mind. Your Destiny is already established in the Heart of God and It is by faith and patience that we inherit the promises of God, which includes your Destiny.

Your Destiny comes through prayer, intimate relationship with The Father and Jesus, the Word.

Your Destiny is also the very thing that you are most passionate about.

Seeing is Believing

God’s recipe for successful living is found in the following Scripture.

“This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous and then you will have good success.” (Joshua 1:8)

The Word of God is the source of all prosperous Christian Living. God wants us to prosper and to have good success in every area of life. And as we meditate on His Word say, on the subject of healing, we begin to voice out loud our faith, “For out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks.” (Matthew 12:34)

The very act of confessing out loud God’s Word and meditating in our hearts His will for us, produces pictures within our heart, for… “As he thinks in his heart, so is he.” (Prov. 3:7)

What we believe about ourselves will come to pass – both for good and for evil. This is why the Lord told us in the Bible to… “Choose life.” (Deut. 30:19) This is the fulness of life the Lord promises to all who do according to all that is written in His Book of Life: The Bible.

I remember my sister, as a young Christian, would draw pictures of the house she would live in when she was older. The house was always grand, beautifully decorated, sumptuous gardens and with cosy enticing rooms.

This is the exact house she now lives in! And is very happy. The truth is, what she meditated on, believed in and spoke out from her heart, came to pass! And it will do for you too!

Christian Dating

My ‘Christian Dating’ Testimony

Christian Dating

This is my story of finding love in the church. ‘Christian Dating’ It could be yours too!

Before I was Christian – some 19 years ago – I was in and out of relationships, each one generally ending traumatically. It wasn’t the fault of my incumbent partner; it was simply because neither of us knew Christ and we were consequently tossed too and fro upon the stormy sea’s of indecision, fears and temptations.

We didn’t stand a chance!

Upon coming to the Lord, I felt to abstain from all female relationships. I kept myself chaste and set aside to do God’s will. In fact, I felt I was going through a process of deep cleansing of emotions and memories. Deep down I still had a desire for a mate; only this time a Christian mate. But what did I know about Christian Dating…?

Eventually I found myself part of a large group of single Christians, mostly my age and from my own church. We had parties, impromptu prayer meetings; day trips and coffee gatherings. My social life was on the up; but this time on Jesus’ terms!
The amazing thing is that, during all that time, the Lord enabled me to have a clean heart and right attitude to the very eligible young ladies in our group. Until that is… I had a dream about one the ladies…

Tall and slim with an inner calm and quietness this lady made me feel quite awkward in her company. Truth is I considered her far too perfect and Holy for me and I forced myself to keep my heart and head from thinking about her.

The next time I saw her I tried to discern whether there was any evidence of her “liking me” more than just …liking me! Perhaps a glint in her eye, looking at me in a different way; but ‘No’ there was none of it. In fact it seemed there was less of a relationship than before. And then to confirm my suspicions, she very gently told me one day out on a Group Picnic, there would be no relationship with her other than friendship! I completely abandoned any thoughts of “Romance” with her. My first attempt at ‘Christian Dating!’

So what did I learn about that experience that could well Christian Datinghelp benefit you?

1. The Christian way of Dating is not the same as the ‘World’s’ way!

2. If you were to come into the Kingdom of God looking for love, you could be disappointed.

3. God’s priorities are different to ours. He expects relationship with Him first and foremost.

5. He will probably want you to ‘lay down’ your agenda and ‘fleshly’ understanding of relationships. He will no doubt enable a process of cleansing from previous relationships and attitudes.

6. But, it’s all absolutely worth it!

If you are new to the church and you have – understandably – desires for a mate then remember the ‘new order’ in relationship- God first then others.

Incidentally, the lady I took a shine to when I first came to the church eventually became my wife. It wasn’t through any of my ‘wooing’ nor cleverness. The Lord could only bring us together after I’d laid down all aspirations of anything other than ‘friendship’. In other words, God had to be in control – not me!

The Promises of God

Christian LIfe Coaching is about taking God at His Word; doing what He say’s we can do; and believing Him for what He has promised.

If He promises anything in His Word then we have a right to believe and receive it, by faith in our lives. If it be His will in Heaven then it is His will on Earth.

677px-ErdbeerkuchenSomewhere in the Bible there is a promise from God to meet your every need.

If, for example, you are in need of healing in your body; by faith in the finished work of the Cross of Calvary Jesus has taken upon Himself all our sickness and diseases “ – by whose stripes you were healed.” (Scrip: 1 Peter 24)

But you say: ‘I’ve tried all that prayer for healing thing! I’ve had people pray for me from all corners of the World and yet I’m still ill! I’ve had people prophesy over me; I’ve even felt better on occasions. I have healing scriptures in front of me day and night; and I use them as a weapon against the Devil!”

That’s truly great! God has certainly heard your prayer’s and has read your petitions. It isn’t that He is ignoring you. He truly wants you well. So what are we to do…?

Let me tell you about my own healing journey concerning CFS (Chronic Fatigue Syndrome). I’ve come to recognise there is a small but crucial truth to understand. And that is: Prayer, in itself, does not heal! It is Faith that heals!

It is having faith in what Jesus Christ has already done for us at the Cross of Calvary. At the Cross He took upon Himself all our sins and the effects of sin, such as sickness and disease: “Surely He has borne our griefs and carried our sorrows … And by His stripes we are healed.” (Scrip. Isaiah 53:5)

We need to know it in our Heart!

Jesus is now alive and is living in our heart’s by faith. ‘In Him’ we are new creations; saved by grace. And just like Jesus, we don’t get ill!

When we know this truth in our hearts, by faith, then the truth of the Gospel of grace will make us free. But, you may ask, why does the heart need to be involved? It’s my leg that hurts! The answer is that: ‘The heart drives our life!’ What we believe in our heart is what we manifest in our life:” For as a he thinks in his heart, so is he.” (Prov 23:7)

We are totally reliant upon Christ’s resurrection power in our life – by faith! For… “In Christ I am delivered from my destructions and healed of my diseases.” This is the Truth that makes us free.
