“What Do You Want?”

The Key To Power is Desire!

If you don’t know what you want, you will probably end up either doing nothing or doing what others want you to do; which maybe ok, or not!

The Key to your Future BlessingsBy default our wants and needs will gravitate towards the easy option; for example, staying in that low paid job, Ministry, Church, Relationship etc,. even though we may be wanting more out of our relationship with the Lord.

What are we to do then in oder to fulfil that sense of purpose and destiny in our hearts?

On the one hand we don’t want to behave in a presumptuous manner , but on the other hand neither do we want to miss it!

In the Book of Mark: 10.51, Jesus asked His Disciples a simple question –  “What do you want me to do for you?  Until our desire’s come from the heart they have no power to fulfil our purpose.

Although Jesus would have known the answer to His own question, He needed His Disciples to speak out loud what they’d heard Him say. Similarly He’s waiting for us too!

“Passion!”

Discover your God given Calling

“Walk worthy of the calling with which you were medium_4536543987called – in Christ Jesus. (Eph 4:1)

“What calling?” You may ask. Answer: The calling that inspired you when you first experienced Jesus Christ. The calling that caused you to testify of the grace of God – and His calling you into His Kingdom.

The calling that inspired you to take up creative ideas, to write songs or stories about Jesus. Or how about the calling that nudged you to write poems, journalling; and to yearn for nothing more than to spend time with Him and His people.

It’s time to step out and step up. Not in your own strength but by the calling and prompting of the Holy Spirit in you.

He’s waiting for you. And you are about to explode with a river of life cascading from your heart.

A close up on Christian Healing Confessions.

NPG x28780,Charles William Anderson Scott,by News Chronicleby Peter J. Foster
From past experiences of having received an anointed prayer of healing – even though I knew I’d been healed – I allowed symptoms talk me out of it; only to slip back again to a ‘mentality’ of ill health! In the Book of the Prophet Jonah, chapter 2 v 8, the Lord warns we are not to forsake our mercy by observing lying vanities.
The lying vanities in the case of physical infirmity are the symptoms of sickness. We must remember that they have no legal right on us. The truth is that Jesus took them on the Cross and by His stripes we were healed. God the Father’s will for us is that we would live in Divine Health all the days of our life. He has made provision for such through His Word.
It is our part to receive His Word by faith and resist the devil’s lies of ‘symptoms’. Only then will we see God’s Glory manifest – and remain!
Here are 35 Confessions that will help you keep your healing.
1 The symptoms are not the sickness; they are signs of sickness which I do not have. They are on the outside trying to get in. Do not accept them!
2 I am the sick recovering my inheritance.
3 Patience is not ‘enduring suffering’ but is constant in faith – with a heart of expectation.
4 Death and life is in the power of the tongue, not in the power of the devil.
5 Faith say’s: “I refuse to let it dictate my life!”
6 Be strong in faith. Give God glory. He’s already done it; now tell everyone!
7 Testify to your miracle before it happens!
8 Speak to your body. Tell it to be strong and to conform to the Word!
9 When your blessing comes to your heart – you’ll have it. See ‘health’ in the heart.
10 Salvation is a return to God’s original plan for your life.
11 Talk about your great future.
12 You have to believe first then speak and believe. You have to know in your heart that you believe.
13 Pass from physical to Spiritual thinking to get healing.
14 God will only be to me what I believe Him to be.
15 I have roads of success in my mind before I can build roads.
16 Don’t struggle to be more pure, holy or righteous; you already have it in Christ.
17 Because of Righteousness, through faith, the Spirit gives life.
18 The Spirit quickens our mortal body despite state of blood.
19 Success or failure is in our spirit.
20 Prayer doesn’t heal. It’s faith that makes us whole.
21 Without faith it’s impossible to please God. (Hebrews 11:6)
22 Everything not like Christ must be removed.
23 Be it unto you according to your faith.
24 Knowledge is not power; but the application of knowledge is power.
25 He doesn’t consider whether I have faith. He’s already dealt me a measure of faith.
26 He answers when you ask.
27 Step into Jesus’ shoes and ask the Father directly.
28 I am in the place of Jesus. The voice of Jesus…
29 My faith is based on the faith of Jesus.
30 I’m not looking for breakthrough; I broke through when Jesus broke through death.
31 Look not at seen but unseen reality.
32 I’m no longer controlled by symptoms but by the Word of God.
33 God’s faith is Jesus – the Word become flesh. All I need is faith in Jesus.
34 I’m not trying to ‘become something’; It’s who I already am in Christ Jesus.
35 As Jesus is, so am I in this World. (1 John 4:17)

Biblical Restoration – it’s about enjoying the Journey.

'67_Jaguar_E-Type_(Ottawa_British_Car_Show_'10)

Not long after becoming a Christian, the Lord showed me in a dream that it was as though I’d been rescued from the ‘scrap heap’ of life, and just like a ‘Classic Car’ I’d been given a new identity! In truth I’d been given a new lease of life: I’d been born again into a family of ‘exclusive Classics’ – the Body of Christ.

And so my journey of Christian Restoration began.

Amazingly I was now considered to be something of great value, a new creation in Christ Jesus and it hadn’t cost me a penny! But, there was work to do.
I needed to go through a complete process of restoration – getting rid of what had been lost due to sin and the effects of The Fall! In fact, I was to become something I’d never been in ‘the natural’ – nor would ever have been! I was to return to what God had planned for me from before the beginning of time – a brand New Creation in Christ Jesus!

Christian Restoration, however, is no joy ride! It is painstakingly slow, can hurt the ego, challenge our perceptions and offend our self centredness. No matter how we try to speed things up, God does not do a quick ‘codge-up’ job on our lives. He is a perfectionist and knows exactly what we are truly like – made in His image and likeness. He wants only that we be Blessed so that we can give Him all the Glory.

The first thing I found was that God gave me a new ‘Motor’ – a new Drive if you will. I was no longer to be driven by fear, performance or pride, but by His love alone.

The Lord began to show me my foundations were rotten – just like the foundations of an old car. He gave me a new ‘Galvanised Stainless Steel Chassis’ – the foundation of His Word, which was to become the ‘bedrock’ of every other Grace.

What followed was the beginning of a work of Restoration on my nervous system. I felt He was re-wiring my entire life with His power, love and His peace and Christian mind renewal.

He gave me new headlights, so to speak, that I might see more clearly where I’m going. He also gave me new Indicators so others might see where I’m going too, and may even want to follow me!

I received a new exhaust system so as to release toxic waste more efficiently: the toxins of hurts, fears, anger and bitterness.
I received a new water-cooling system to help maintain a constant Spiritual temperature; and fresh oil, the Oil of His Spirit – together with regular oil/filter changes to keep me well lubricated and the Gifting flowing.

He gave me a new upholstered interior so that I might feel comfortable with my new identity in Christ Jesus. And a new paint job so that even people around might see the difference!

He gave me a new Map Book and Instruction Manual, to be found in prayer and praise, that I might understand where it is He wants me to go and how to get there.

And finally He gave me a new ‘badge’ – His ‘Marque’ of quality – the Name of Jesus; the Name that would symbolise forever my pedigree and esteem as a new creation in His Kingdom.

Christian Restoration takes time and persistence. A skillful Christian Life Coach will help with discovering who you truly are in Christ Jesus, and will travel the journey of restoration with you. This truly is Christian Restoration!

The Bible say’s “Two are better than one.” Sometimes we simply need each other in the process of Sanctification for the Lord.

Help I’m a Christian and I’m Stuck!

Firstly let me tell you, you are not alone!

Stuck!

                          “Help, I’m Stuck!”

As a Christian Life Coach I get numerous folk wanting to move forward in various aspects of their life, but find themselves Stuck!

They have plans to pursue new careers, to take up hobbies, fitness regimes or become more involved in their church, expressing the Gifts and Talents God has graced them with.

Their intentions are honourable; but meanwhile the Enemy of our soul is rubbing his hands in absolute glee to see God’s people paralysed by such inaction!

I should know; I’ve been there…

I did however discover that the solution to my ‘Stuck-ness!’ was not to dig around trying to undo all the strands leading to ‘Stuck-ness!’ but instead – to dig around in my own soul to find whether Jesus, The Word, is in control and that I am living my life through Him and Him and not Me! Now there’s a challenge!

The Bible put’s it this way –

“I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave His life for me.”  Galatians, 3:3

The Lord know’s exactly what He wants for each one of us. It is only through living by faith in Him that we know His perfect will and purpose for our lives.

Bottom line …. He’s not stuck and neither are we – In Him.

What do you want Jesus to do for you? Mark 10:51

origin_266023763-1“You do not have, because you do not ask God.” James 4:1-8

The trouble with so many of us Believers is that we just can’t believe that God is speaking and listening to us – personally!

He speaks to us personally through the Bible and through our thoughts and circumstances. He does so because He really loves to fellowship with us and longs to help us in our times of trouble.

And yet…

I used to think: for the Lord God of Heaven and Earth to actually want to walk and talk with little old me is like asking the Queen of England to stop her cavalcade and actually summons me for a one on one chat.

It just doesn’t happen that way and so I don’t even spend time dwelling on it.

And yet over the days and weeks I kept hearing in my ‘inner man’ His words: “What do you want me to do for you?”

So, I took me a writing pad and began a long and detailed list of all my needs related to work, relationships, and ill health. Ill health being my greatest need. After all if you don’t have good health you don’t have the energy to do anything!

I kept writing and writing and writing! I listed specific desires I had as a new Christian: A wife, a Ministry, a good business, great friends, money and health. All the usual things.

Exhausted, some time later I packed up my pad and pen and headed back home.

It wasn’t until I reached home that I finally began to realise the objective as a Christian was not to aquire things but a Person – the Person of Jesus Christ. What I truly want and what Jesus wants is Relationship! He’ll provide everything else – including good health.

Refiner’s Fire (Surviving Church Life)

Pic: Titus Tscharntke

Being a member of a local church can be a gruelling experience!

Far from being an emotionally stable environment – the high light of the week’s activities, a chance to be refreshed, encouraged and built up; it can actually produce a number of ‘side-effects’ you’d never imagine!

If you are in a church where the full Gospel is preached; and where signs and wonders are regularly experienced and the moving of the Holy Spirit is a reality; then your emotional equilibrium will eventually be challenged!

Did not the Lord Himself tell us that He comes as a Refiner’s Fire? He comes to cleanse us of every secret fault, to illuminate the darkness, deliver us from our destruction’s, rid us of unbelief and heal all our diseases.

Which means of course confronting the status-quo: the way we think, the lies we have believed about ourselves (that do not stack up with Scripture), the fears we have and the unbelief we have confessed.

Life can be very confusing; agony at times, carrying all this heavy baggage!

So, given that you have agreed with the Lord to permit His work of Restoration in your life, here are five Keys to making the journey easier – and less confusing.

1. When the Lord puts His finger on an area of sin, acknowledge His interference as a gift of grace. In fact, welcome Him and co operate with His Healing Ministry.

2. Have an Accountability Partner – someone who understands you and the sanctification process you are going through. Someone who will support you all the way; in prayer and by just being there when needed.

3. Remember, the work that Father God has begun in your life, He will carry it on to completion. Cooperate with Him, trust Him and thank Him for His personal attention in your life.

4. Keep a journal of all that has been dealt with in this time of deep Ministry. It will help you not let the ‘enemy’ try drag you back to what you have already been set free from.

5. Have Scripture at the ready to counteract the lies you once agreed with (and which are now under the Blood of Jesus). Scripture is powerful when spoken in faith. We must use it as a weapon against the lies and attacks of the Enemy.

6. Finally, be ready to give your testimony both in your church and to your friends and family; for we overcome the Devil by the blood of the lamb and the word of our testimony.

As a Christian Life Coach I will stand with you in faith and walk this journey with you.

Releasing Gifts and Talents in the Church

Christian Gifts & Talents

Within the church, we are responsible to ourselves and to each other in fulfilling God’s call on our lives – to become all that God has made us to be.

Every church has a role in identifying and releasing folk in their talents and gifting, that they might fulfil their God given potential.

But what happens when, say, a talented singer/song writer does not fit in with the way the worship band do things in the church; or the gifted evangelist who’s style is quite ‘gruff’ and confronting (along the lines of Smith Wigglesworth). Are these folk left to be ‘out in the cold’ – to have to go it alone? Or worse still, do these ‘round pegs in square holes’ eventually give up their calling completely!

Then there are the Entrepreneurs, Adventurers, Artists, Writers and Performers, who, although not mainstream, still have a responsibility to fulfilling God’s will and purpose for their lives: to produce fruit for the Kingdom. These individuals can only do their ‘stuff’ by being ‘plugged in’ to their home church.

As a Christian Life Coach I am fulfilling a role that probably should be done within the church leadership, or a ministry within the church.

I encourage folk and affirm them in their unique gifts and talents and work with them to bring forth good fruit for the Kingdom and to develop their skills and talents.

It is a role I delight in, especially seeing them blossom. Having someone to stand alongside and champion them brings out the very best they can be. But I still see they remain largely isolated within the home-church.

This is a plea to all churches: would you please respect, affirm and encourage latent talent within your midst and let them know they are very much valued – even if not totally understood. They still need to feel they are being sent out by their church family and are being covered by prayer.
