Relationship with God the Father

Relationship

Relationship

‘Living in faith’.
I have called myself a Believer with great passion. I minister to folk who need Coaching in areas of Parenting, Gifts, Talents, Career and Relationships.
Suffice to say I am a committed Christian and am often called upon for my prophetic words, prophetic songs and prayers for the sick.
But, after all these years I cannot say that I have a proper relationship with my Heavenly Father.
I go through the motions and get great Spiritual breakthroughs with Him. I meditate upon the Bible and can recite passages from proverbs and Psalms.
But after many years trying to know the Lord more clearly, I have concluded I have something of an ‘Orphan Spirit’.
I grew up a loner and lived as a single man for many years. Inevitably I took my loneliness to the workplace, and to the family and finally to the church..
To my surprise, when I became a Christian I witnessed many other orphans both in and out side the church.
The only cure I’ve found to this loneliness is through ‘Relationship’ This is the missing key to isolation; not only in the church but in the office, shop, family and fellowship.
The Relationship I am speaking of is of a continual stream of Father’s love.
Speaking to Him in our inner man, thanking Him, glad of His presence, help, encouragement and confidence – all being received by faith.
Continual communication with the Father in this way develops a strong and meaningful Prayer life.
The relationship that develops is as a father/mother relationship whereby we know He is with us and we can refer to Him continually.
No more an Orphan/son or Daughter.

Spring Cleaning the Mental Clutter

imgres-1If you are like me you’ll have Post It Notes clinging to every available space: at your desk, your computer and beyond. I’ve even found one such preditor clinging to my cheek bone which, when decifered, reminded me to remove the other Post It Note on the back of my wrist, telling me to buy some more Post It notes and sundry stationary whilst in Sainsbury’s.

These spontanious ideas and reminders that promise so much, serve only one purpose and that is to drain me of all mental peace and sanity. The clutter, of course, goes way beyond the office in ever increasing creativity. So much so you may suggest I invest in an electronic devise to remind me of just about anything the ‘Enemy of my Soul’ could possibly cause me to forget. But, I’m sorry, I JUST DON’T DO  ELECTRONIC DEVISES – Why not? Simple reason it would necessitate 4 or 5 Post It Notes just to remind me how to operate the ‘Darned thing! ……. Born out of time, I guess!

God has a treat in store for you!

“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” Jeremiah 29:11

The truth though is that if you only keep those plans tucked away inside the pages of your Bible, or hidden in the book shelf, you can pretty much say good-bye to those plans. What a tragic waste of potential!

I have good news for you – “You can have your cake and eat it!” “And enjoy it!”

But first we have to get rid of some religious mind set’s that we Christians tend to wallow in, well I do at least! So what better way to expose the lies of the flesh and the Devil than to recite out loud the Truth!

To be spoken out loud five times each two times a day….

“I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me” (Phil 4:13

“I press towards the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus,” (Phil 3:13)

“And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus, (Eph 2:6)

TheLord is my light and my salvation; Whom shall I fear? The Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid? Psalm 27

Where there is no Vision the people perish (Proverbs 29:18)

Coffee Time Article that will challenge you in your Planning for this coming Year.

“What is the Vision for my Business?”

images-1With pen and paper to hand I begin crafting a New Year’s Resolution concerning my ‘Christian Coaching Ministry.’ Initially I make a weak attempt to plan for 5 new clients every week; which means I would need to increase my Marketing activity by 50%

Is that possible? Yes, but only with a lot of hard work! … Or a miracle!

A little dis-heartened I sit back in my chair to peruse my environment. I’m seated in a favorite Cafe. Conversation’s flow freely here among the clicking of Lap Tops and clatter of coffee machines. It’s a place of comfort and inspiration. And yet, I’m still stuck! Eventually, my eyes are drawn to a chalked Black Board sign that reads – “Coffee doesn’t ask silly questions – Coffee Understands”

How often I sought the comfort of coffee, and the atmosphere that goes with it. But I now see that it’s not the false comfort of coffee nor the people that I hanker after but of the presence of God. For He alone is the Vision for my Business.

How to be Free From Christian Regrets

“… forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead…” Failure!

The Christian life is forever forward-looking. And yet so many of us are crippled by past hurts, disappointments and regrets.

Stuck!

The consequences of this dilema is that we are no longer able to fulfill the second part of this well-known Scripture: “… I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus..” (Philippians 3:14)

The ‘Prize’ is God’s call upon our life ‘In Christ Jesus’. It is a calling far higher than we would ever imagine! (Especially when so many of us are dealing with regrets, disappointments and failures).

And yet God can, and will, restore the wasted years and the missed opportunities. We only need to give Him our faith, based upon His promises, and then rest in Him.

Jesus is Lord

The ‘Enemy’ of our soul is very active this time of year; what with all the New Year Resolutions, Festivities and positive confessions.

800px-Sunrise-Daytona-Beach-FLSatan doesn’t like it one bit!

He will do all He can to discourage us Believers at this time. He will try lull us into disappointment now the ‘Sales’ are over, the parties long gone and the cold, dark nights kick in!

So what was all the joy and merriment about? For us Christian believers it was about God sending His only begotten Son, Jesus the Christ, into this World that He might destroy the works of the Devil! (1 John 3:8)

This is the the truth we Christians can celebrate every day of our lives. Satan is defeated and Jesus is Lord!

It is the truth that makes us free…

the peace that passes understanding…

It is the joy that is our strength…

the blessing of the Lord that makes rich and adds no sorry with it.

And in His Name, by faith in His Name, the heavy clouds of Winter are dispersed and the light of His countenance shines brightly in our hearts.

Healing the broken hearted

Please take time to Rest in His healing grace…

Matthew 11:28-30 Come to me, all who labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.”

This is Jesus speaking to our heart. He is telling us that He Himself has taken all the hurt, wounding, rejection on the Cross. He did it that we might find healing in His Love. – Love heals.

John 14:27 Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid.

This is only possible in Christ Jesus. He is in the Father, and the Father is in us.

Isaiah 53:4 Surely He has borne our griefs And carried our sorrows; Yet we did esteem Him smitten by God and afflicted. But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; The chastisement for our peace was upon Him, And with His stripes we are healed.

In Christ we are healed.

Psalms 73:26 My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.

The Bible calls us to meditate on His Word, in this way we find peace where there was once anxiety.

In short, we become as Jesus; one with His Life.

2 Corinthians 12:9 But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me.

“Leave the broken, irreversible past in God’s hands, and step out into the invincible future with Him.” ~ Oswald Chambers

The eyes of the Heart

“The truth is that whatever I give my attention to is what I will get! I know this because the Bible tells us in Proverbs 23:7 that…”as he thinks in his heart, so is he.” Which means that I determine my own future based upon what I am focussing on in the imagination of my heart NOW!”The eyes of the HeartThe problem arises when, because of the negative thoughts and pictures I carry in my heart, I meditate on them and begin to speak them out. The soul dutifully outworks these words in real life.

The Bible instructs us over and over again to watch carefully the words we speak. Why? Because those words have the power of life and death! (Also to Bless!)

So what can I do to not only repair the damage I’ve created but to establish new positive pictures in my heart that produce life-giving words from my mouth and fruitful living?

Firstly, I must understand that there is no quick fix! In prayer I might receive a wonderful touch from the Lord, but it won’t necessarily last! My soul needs to be reprogrammed with God’s Word – His Truth – about who I truly am in relationship with HIM!; which calls for a concerted effort to find out what, exactly, God DOES say about me in His Word.

For example: Who I am now in Christ Jesus.?  What do I have as a son in His House? And what plans He has for me – to prosper me and to give me a hope and a future.? (Jer. 29:11)

I cannot skimp on this. I need to make it my ‘profession’ to know the Truth about who I am, and to only think, speak and meditate on Truth. I find I also have to be very careful not to corrupt God’s Word in my heart by listening to fear-filled news items, pessimistic predictions and stress creating relationships. It all seeks to fuel the fire of fear, which in

Which in turn seeks to produce images of death, fear and negativity; whilst the Heart meanwhile dutifully outworks them in my life.
