How to Receive Your Christian Miracle

From the Bible’s perspective, miracles are gracious and mighty works of God that display his unique power and dominion over all creation. They are “gracious” because God in his mercy chooses to reveal himself supernaturally in a way that displays his willingness to interact with mankind.

Rejoice!

Biblical miracles serve to authenticate God’s messengers. Some miracles demonstrate God’s salvation, others his judgment.

But right now you are probably wondering how to receive your miracle of healing or miracle of financial provision, etc. You may relate to my own experience of receiving a miracle below.

Testimony: When I became a Christian I began smoking cigarettes like I’d never smoked before. I was virtually chain-smoking. I did everything to quit smoking. I’d buy a pack if 20 cigarettes, smoke them one after the other than get so angry with myself I’d flush half the packet down the toilet. 30 minutes later, Id leave my Apartment and walk to the local ‘All Night’ Store and smoke cigarettes one after the other. I was frantic with shame, terribly un-healthy and fearful.

One night, again smoking one cigarette after the other I prayed for deliverance (for the 10th time that month) and right there in the quietness of night I suddenly received my miracle. In a moment I was free. Every thing went quiet and I knew I was delivered of nicotine addiction! Twenty years later I’m still totally free. Praise God.

I have no Spiritual formula other than to say that Jesus will never leave you nor forsake you. Just keep praying, seeking and expecting your miracle. It is on its’ way!

How to live the Abundant Christian Life

“I have come that they may have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.” John 10:10

Abide in the Vine

Abide in the Vine

God, from out of His abundance made us to expect abundance!

The abundant life God the Father bestowed upon His Son, Jesus the Christ, is now shared with those who believe. All we need do is to “Abide in the Vine”.

Jesus is the Vine. And as we dwell in Him, feast on Him and love Him, so we become like Him and partake of all the Blessings of the Abrahamic Covenant.

As sons and daughters of the Most High God we behave like Him, speak like Him and think like Him. In fact we become as He is in this world.

In Him we can do all things through Him who gives us strength.( Philippians 4:13)

But we must believe…

How to be Free From Christian Regrets

“… forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead…” Failure!

The Christian life is forever forward-looking. And yet so many of us are crippled by past hurts, disappointments and regrets.

Stuck!

The consequences of this dilema is that we are no longer able to fulfill the second part of this well-known Scripture: “… I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus..” (Philippians 3:14)

The ‘Prize’ is God’s call upon our life ‘In Christ Jesus’. It is a calling far higher than we would ever imagine! (Especially when so many of us are dealing with regrets, disappointments and failures).

And yet God can, and will, restore the wasted years and the missed opportunities. We only need to give Him our faith, based upon His promises, and then rest in Him.

Christian Breakthrough

The Bible has many powerful Scriptures relatating to us being set free from spiritual and physical bondage and ovecoming all manner of adversity.

(“Put on the whole armour of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the Devil”)  (Ephesians 6:10.)

Christian Breakthrough!

Christian Breakthrough!

Clearly the Lord’s desire is that we be free from the bondages of the world, the flesh and the devil! In our desperate attempts to be free we hold ‘Breakthrough Meetings’ late into the night. We abstain from foods and activities we think could weaken our faith. And generally we become all ‘fired-up’ to take on the wiles of the devil.

Not wanting to be in any way discouraging nor critisizing of anyone’s response to adversity, I just wanted to share a bit of my own ‘breakthrough’ understanding of defeating the enemy of our souls. Maybe it’s just me but I’ve been wondering whether there is a bit of a ‘flaw’ with our response to adversity. My question is: How do we actually know when we’ve broken through?

The only reason I share this is because I too have been seeking ‘Breakthrough’ in the area of physical healing. In fact I’ve been seeking healing ‘breakthrough’ since I became a Christian some 20 years ago. Only now am I beginning to wonder if my current understanding of ‘breakthrough’ is not really helping me. Here, in this Earth, with my feet firmly on solid ground, I see the problem I have is of ill health. (It could equally be a problem of loneliness, financial lack etc,.) So, I stand on the Scriptures that tell me I am healed through Christ’s Atonement.

What normally happens next in my experience of ‘Breakthrough Meetings’ is that we pray, declare Scripture and go into spiritual warfare against the Devil! (And generally get worn-out in the process, making any ill health even worse!)

Years later I think I’ve had a bit of a revelation! I have realised that ‘In Christ Jesus’ I have already broken through! When Jesus rose from the grave He defeated the entire works of the devil. He broke through death on our behalf; so that I – ‘In Him’ – have broken through sickness and disease. ‘In Him’ I am healed. ‘In Him’ I have peace. ‘In Him’ I have fulness of life. Yes, there well be some adjustments to make on my behalf; mostly in the area of how I think about myself and what I speak about myself. This is classic ‘Mind Renewal.’

The Biblical Truth is that, ‘In Christ’, I’m just as much healed as I am saved and forgiven of all my sins. And yet there has to be a working out of my Salvation by faith through what Jesus has done for me (and not by what I try to get out of Him!)

My position has become ‘Believing and Receiving’, rather than ‘Trying to Get it.‘ ‘In Him’ I already have it!

The Battle Belongs to the Lord!

God’s instructions to defeating the enemy. (2 Chronicles 20)

The Problem – A great multitude came against the people of God to destroy them! Jehoshaphat, the then King of Judah, was terrified and set himself to seek the Lord.  In the natural, God’s people did not stand a chance against such a formidable force.

The Battle Belongs to the Lord

How about you…? Do you know that  awful fear of defeat, where you just can’t see your way through? If so, here are some valuable keys from this amazing Chapter of the Bible. It will help you win your own battles for the Lord!

  1. God’s people gathered to ask help from the Lord
  2. They prayed for help. Then King Jehoshaphat stood before the people and spelt out the potentially tragic plight of God’s people.
  3. He prayed to God, reminding Him of His Divine power and justice; and of the many victories He’d won for His chosen people, the Israelites, in the past.
  4. Jehoshophat reminded God that they had built for Him a sanctuary of worship in their Land; and that God had already promised His people that no disaster would befall them.
  5. Jehoshophat spelt out the enormity of the enemy coming against them – an enemy Israel would have defeated long ago had God not told them to spare them.
  6. With a hint of rebuke, King Jehoshophat reminded God that if He had permitted them to destroy the enemy they would not be facing this enormous crisis now!
  7. Jeshoshophat did, however, insist that their eyes were on God alone for their salvation.
  8. They waited prayerfully for a response
  9. Finally, the prophetic Word of the Lord came to Jehoshophat “Do not be afraid of this great multitude, for the battle is not yours but God’s! Position yourselves, stand still and see the Salvation of the Lord, who is with you.”
  10. Delighted with God’s prophetic Word, they worshipped the Lord and praised Him with voices loud and high! The next morning as as they went out to meet with the enemy, Jehoshophat stood and said: Hear me, O Judah, and you inhabitants of Israel: Believe in the Lord God and you shall be established; believe His prophets and you shall prosper.”
  11. Jehoshophat appointed singers to go out before the enemy army; they sang: “Praise the Lord for His mercy endures forever.”
  12. As they sang, God set ambushes against their enemies and they were utterly defeated. Remember this is without Jehoshophat’s army lifting a single sword! Meanwhile God’s people stripped the enemy of their abundant valuables and precious jewelry. Job done!

If you are facing a mighty enemy in any area of your life, be it physically, mentally or spiritually; please remember these dynamic Key’s to Breakthrough. They worked for Jehoshophat and they will work for you!

Fight The Good Fight of Faith

Just as soon as you determine in your heart to pursue a goal, a vision or a plan for your life, you will be challenged! The bigger the plan, the greater the resistance. You’re going to need faith to put up a good fight!

The Bible talks much about pursuing goals. In Philippians 3:14 we are exulted to “Press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.”

Now you see why the enemy of our soul is out to thwart God’s plans for your life! He really does not want you to prosper! Neither does he want you to use your faith in expanding your gifts and talents!

So how do we arm ourselves for the battle ahead. And how do we keep motivated in ‘pressing towards the goal’ – the goal God has given us?

1. The first action point is to be found in the above quoted Scripture verse. Prior to ‘pressing toward the Goal’ we are advised to “let go of those things behind.” This will mean many things to many people, but it could include for example: Regrets, disappointments, previous missed opportunities, failures, broken relationships etc…

Also, forgive yourself for falling for Satan’s accusations and forgive others for their sins against you. And don’t forget: God has given you a vision to fulfill – it is yours and yours alone! Others may not understand nor agree with your vision. But God does, and that’s all you will need to fight for your faith.

2. The second step is to become accountable to a prayer-partner, a church Leader or a Coach/Mentor – someone of strong faith. Instead of the Enemy seeing just little old you fighting to establish your God-given Goal, he will see two or more standing in agreement. The Bible says “Two are better than one..” (Eccl. 4:9) And if you include Jesus, that’s three against one! And…“A threefold cord is not quickly broken” Eccl. 4:12

3. Write the Vision. There is something very powerful about writing your intentions. Somehow it set’s in concrete your plans – especially if you read and reread the vision. It will give you a battle plan to refer back to, a statement of faith, and a strong  position you can throw at the Enemy!

Rehearsing you ‘Battle Plan’ will build faith and add weight to your determination. Go over it in your mind regularly.

4. Finally, get ready to celebrate your victory! Speak in terms of the battle is already won. In Christ Jesus the ‘enemy’ is defeated and God’s Kingdom is done on Earth as it is in Heaven.
