Prayer for Healing

origin_266023763-1

The journey of Healing.

If you are seeking healing, particularly for chronic illness, then you could well be embarking on a very interesting journey.

Let me share my own journey with you.

First of all, I confess that I am not an expert on the subject of healing. I have learned much through pursuing my own healing but I do not  profess to know what is best for you, ( nor even what is best for me!)

What I do know is that God the Father sent His Son, Jesus the Christ, to die for us on a Cross, to forgive us of our sins. and on the Cross He bore our sicknesses and diseases -  and with His stripes we were healed!

Well, that sounds simple enough; and it is! But, even though I have on many occasions stood in faith for healing on prayer lines and even prayed for myself and have received a measure of healing – it has not remained!

So this is where it can seem to get more complicated (but not to the Lord!) The problem is that there is something preventing the healing to remain.

The Truth is that God wants us healed: Spirit, Soul and Body. Notice the progression: first the Spirit to be healed (which happens at Salvation), then the Soul needs to be healed and then the Body. The following scripture describes the progression:

“Beloved, I wish above all things that you may prosper (in the heart and soul) and  have good success (on the outside – the body.) Scrip ref: 3 John 2

What God wants is a thorough job of Salvation – Saved, Healed and made Whole.Which means that this is an ‘Inside-out’ job. It begins on the inside and flows to the outside.

And so with David, I cry: ”Search me, O God, and know my anxieties; And see if there is any wicked way in me, And lead me in the way everlasting,” Scrip ref: Ps 139: 23,24.

To get us going on this journey, we may find clues to any ‘Inner Conflicts’ by looking at our previous generations, especially where there has been repeating patterns of sinful behaviour, terrible trials, disaster or disease.

The sins of our father’s are passed on to the 10th generation but that does not mean we are stuck with them; we can bring them to the Cross and have Jesus take the sin and the resultant curse for us.

It would be good to have Spirit-filled Christians stand with you during and after this process (or research experienced Christian Healing & Deliverance Ministries) And after the prayer ministry it is very important to be on guard for any attempts of the enemy to try drag you back into bondage to fear. Rebuke him and declare Scriptural truths ie: who you are in Christ Jesus; that the devil is defeated by the Blood of the Lamb and the word of your testimony.

I have found that praying in tongues can be very powerful in bringing me into the presence and authority in Christ Jesus. Also keeping my eyes on Jesus seated upon the Throne of Grace helps bring me into a place of Victory!

Being absolutely rooted and grounded in His love is of paramount importance to retaining your healing. And to believe and confess the Word of Truth concerning your Salvation: ‘Saved, Healed, Whole!

The Enemy will attempt to harass you but he cannot get at Jesus; so make Jesus much bigger than the Enemy and he shall flee!

Remember, the Enemy only has access to those areas of our life which are exposed: ie, the areas of fear, sin, unforgiveness, rejection, self-pity and bitterness. Ensure those thoughts are brought to the obedience of Christ Jesus crucified for the forgiveness of sins and for our healing and wholeness.

I am a qualified Christian Life Coach and will help keep you stay on-track’ in seeking and retaining your healing. If you need help, why not contact me now for a FREE Introductory Coaching Session.

Confessions of a Former Worship Leader

Corporate worship, about two years ago I walked away from it. Praise music on Sundays, youth on Wednesdays—after years and years, I said goodbye to it all. I didn’t loose faith, nor did I sin my way into shame, I just burned out. My feelings, my doubts, the weight of it all just bubbled up.

Like so many others before me, I was hurt by the church and left because of it.

What is Prophetic Christian Life Coaching?

origin_2340296058

In the Gospel of John 5:19 we see that Jesus only ever did what he saw the Father doing!
If Jesus was so reliant upon the Spirit of God to reveal the Father’s will, how much more should we as followers of Jesus Christ, be seeking the ‘Now Word’ of God for our lives.
The Christian Life Coach will spiritually ‘stand in the gap’ between the client being coached and the ‘Divine will of the Father’.
Prayerfully the entire coaching session is committed to the Lord for His guidance. The client does not necessarily need to join in with this prayer; he or she may not be in a place to do so. As previously stated, the Christian Life Coach is, in effect, ‘standing in the gap’ between Father God and the client with the purpose only to seek the Father’s will.
This is a responsibility that the Coach does not take lightly and demonstrates the need for the Coach himself to be in a good place with the Lord and to be fully committed to doing only what he sees the Father doing.
On occasions the Prophetic Life Coach will see very clearly what the Father is saying related to an issue with the client; it may not, however, be expedient for him to impart this information. It is generally more beneficial for the client to receive revelation himself; to find answers for himself.
In order to maintain forward motion, the Coach – through patient questioning and active listening – will prompt the client into seeking their own answers. When they do so, they are far more motivated to apply their new found truth directly to their lives.
Healing and freedom begins when we confront the root of our problems. There are, however, occasions when issues are so deeply buried in the unconscious that the mind is incapable of connecting with them. This is where revelation from the Heart of God is so crucial. The revelation may come in a word spoken, a scripture hi-lighted or a picture in the mind. The important thing is to have faith to go with the prophetic insight and trust the client to the tender hands of the Father. He alone knows the plans He has for us, to prosper us and to give us a hope and a future. And He alone knows how to get us to that place of fulness in Christ.
Skilfully applied, Christian Life Coaching, together with sound Biblical Counselling and the ‘Prophetic’ will see God’s will be done for the client.

“Christian Coaching in the Word”

medium_3475543391

It is not enough merely to hear a Bible teaching on say, “The joy of the Lord” and then profess a willingness to change and everything will be ok! Joy is a fruit of the Spirit and does not come about over night. What we need is a definite plan to take steps and apply Truth to our life.
Christian Life Coaching is the perfect process because it requires defined actions in pursuing the things of God and developing faith. Let me explain.
The heart of Life Coaching is to help drawer out of us what God has already placed in us. It is a process of interaction between the client and the Life Coach – with the Holy Spirit helping so as to bring about the desired transformation.
In the example of say “The joy of the Lord”, we know that the Bible tells us the truth shall make us free, which is a real comfort to us because, of course, we all want to be free! So, “The joy of the Lord” has been preached and we spend the rest of the day in a happy glow, excited about our future and all God has for us. But it doesn’t continue automatically!
In order to continue in the joy of the Lord we must count the cost and accept that it does not come without commitment. It is through faith and patience that we inherit the promises.
This is where Christian Life Coaching can be of great help in keeping us accountable in our commitment to joy, (or any other Grace for that matter.)
Barriers to entering into His joy would be explored together with a strategy for maintaining joy – even when the whole world is screaming fear and panic!
The joy of the Lord is a choice, made available by Grace, to the Believer. Life Coaching keeps us accountable to casting down imaginations that are contrary to the Truth of the Word, and resisting any distractions to walking in Truth.
By equipping us with strategies to maintaining victory and the courage to keep pressing towards the goal we find our motivation is increased together with improved self confidence.
We are now truly “pressing toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.” (Phil. 3:14)

Can Christians benefit from Life Coaching?

medium_3752524422-1

My conviction is that the Ministry of Coaching is a missing key in the Body of Christ.

Let me explain why I believe coaching can help fulfill all that God the Father has placed on our heart.
As an example, the Preacher brings a stirring message on the subject of, say, Biblical Hope (which was in fact the subject of my previous Post: http://www.peterjfoster.wordpress.com)
We are encouraged to believe that God is good and that He has a great plans for our live’s; plans to prosper us and to give us a future and a hope. (Scrip ref: Jerem: 29:11)
We are excited as we leave the Church Service and are resolved to change our attitude and perspective because we now know what a loving Father we have who takes care of our every need!
For the rest of the day we talk excitedly about God’s goodness and His great plans for our future.
By the end of the next day, however, we are once again bogged down with the care’s of this world! It’s not that we don’t want to do exploits for the Lord, it’s just that… well, we’re stuck! We just don’t seem to have the momentum to keep going.

To go back to the example of producing ‘Biblical Hope’ – this is a promise for those who will meditate on the Word long enough for Hope to become a reality in the heart. It isn’t so much ‘Hope’ that we are trying to get, but the promise from God’s Word to be established in our heart. That’s where the power is to bring about faith, which in turn produces the substance of the thing you have been hoping for.
This is all about ‘believing’ of course and it does take time to develop. It is not an easy thing to do on our own! Like many of the plans God has for us there is a process involved which includes mind renewal, time and faith.

‘Two are better than one’ (Scrip ref: Eccl. 4:9)

A skilled Christian Life Coach will help drawer out of you all that God has placed in you so as to accomplish the plans He has for you. He will be there helping you to “Press towards the Goal.” (Phil 3:14)

* He will keep you accountable to performing tasks. (such as in the example above regarding developing ‘Hope’)
* He will encourage you, challenge you and keep you on track.
* He will ask you those loaded questions that will drawer out of you the answers you need.
* He will encourage and empower you to take responsibility for your own life.

In conclusion, may I offer you a FREE Trial Coaching Session for you to investigate yourself the power of Life Coaching. What can you loose? Or even better still: What can you gain?

Choose any subject you like for the free session: Relationships, Finances, Health, Wholeness, Healing, Enterprise, Business Start-up’s, Creativity and Talents.

“Hope” – the missing key?

Staring Without Moving

Hope is an earnest expectation of what we desire.
It is, for many, the missing key!

HOPE an acronym:

Hears God’s Word that…
Opens our eyes to the…
Plans He has for us, to…
Energise our Faith.

Biblical hope stems from what God is telling us will come to pass.

So, how does hope work?

Hope paints a picture on our heart’s of what we are thinking and meditating upon. In other words, for what we are longing for. That’s where the power is – in the imagination of our heart! (Which is also where the power for evil, failure and death is!)

For as he thinks in his heart so is he” (Prov. 23:7)

The Bible is full of promises. If that were not the case then we would have no hope; or at least no positive hope.

We would, instead be meditating on failure, poverty and disaster, which is exactly what we would get. But Christ died that we might have life and that we might have it more abundantly. (John 10:10) So we choose life!

This is not just wishful thinking, like a mere complement. This is actively and purposefully seeing ourselves as God sees us, by reading what the Bible say’s about us. It is about taking the Word of God and actively meditating on it until we know and see in our heart what God promises. For example, you may like to meditate on the following scriptures:

“I am above only and not beneath…” “I am more than a conquerer…”
“I am blessed with very spiritual blessing in Heavenly places…”

So, Why is it so important to get all fired up about hope?

Because it is Biblical hope that stokes the fire’s of faith.

“Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.” (Heb. 11:1)

When we have our hope as an earnest expectation of grace’s future accomplishments, then faith comes into action and brings about the thing we hope for. Faith requires Hope! And hope does not disappoint!

Trust in the Lord

I usually begin my Daily Devotional with Scripture reading and Journalling. Normally I write about how I am, what is going on in my life, what I have understood recently by applying His word to my life. And on occasions, I ask Him very frank questions that need speedy answers.

So, this is my prayer life. I invite you into one such Journalling conversation with my Heavenly Father.

small__421521420
I am treading carefully across a stream on stepping stones. Half way across the river, the water rushing playfully amongst the well-rounded stones, I am thrilled by the adventure but becoming troubled as to whether I will get to the other side. With my trouser legs rolled up carefully I tread barefoot on the watery stones. There is a point halfway across where I fear I will not get any further. I’m beginning to panic and loose my balance as the now ferocious water bombards me in torrents. I test different steps forward but am loosing my nerve!

Finally I have to admit that I’m stuck! And so, right there caught between each bank of the river I call out to God for help. In the quietness that ensues at the depths of my heart I hear His small still voice:

“At a crucial point,” He says, “normally half way towards your goal, you will be tested. The temptation to give up at this time is at its peak.”

That’s very true Lord, I reply within my spirit. In many aspects of my faith walk: my healing, deliverance and my ministry, at a particular point where it seems I’m just about to ‘break through’ I am some how or other slammed with fears of failure! Why is that Lord? What can I do to get beyond that fear?

As I wait there, with water rushing all around, I notice a cut off branch that is similarly stuck at this point. It is a metre or so in front of me and so I reach forward to grab it. Thankfully it unhinges itself easily from between the rocks and I pull it to my side. The branch is, conveniently, the size of a walking stick and so by steadying myself with it I manage to make my way safely to the other side.

“What a sturdy companion you have been,” I say to the walking stick. “And what a faithful God I have for presenting it to me just at the right time!”

I lay the stick on a grassy slope beside the river – in readiness for my return journey. And as I walk from the river I hear, in the splashing of water, the voice of the Lord speaking to me:

“My son, do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” (Isaiah 41:10)

I realise at that moment, the Lords right hand may at times be a ‘word in season’, or a person coming alongside to pray, or in this case even a walking stick to get me to the other side. These are the graces made available when we step out, in faith, to do exploits for Him; even in the case of writing a simple parable of His faithfulness.

If you long to do exploits for God, please consider Christian Life Coaching as an effective means of identifying your God-given Gifts & talents and releasing them to accomplish Goals for God.
